From Software today has reported some impressive sales for Elden Ring and claims that the incredibly popular open-world action role play was sold 12 million times worldwide. However, in his solemn press release, the Japanese studio indicates that due to the success of the game, it is trying to expand the intellectual property "beyond the area of games".
While from Software does not go into detail, just the latest activities of Halo, League of Legends, Dota 2, Sonic, Mario, Uncharted, Cyberpunk, Fallout, Borderlands, Bioshock, The Witcher, Call of Duty and many other popular franchises (breathes deeply) to find out what that means probably. A TV show or a movie from Elden Ring? It must be, right? Or maybe it gets your own book by George RR Martin, who knows?
"Please look forward to more of Elden Ring as an IP (characters and other intellectual property) in the hope to expand beyond the area of the games," says FROM software in his press release.
With regard to the 12 million sales figures, from software confirmed that this number is calculated by combining the actual digital downloads of the game and the sales figures of the physical version of Elden Ring on retailers.
While nobody is particularly shocked that Elden Ring was a stormy success, they can not help them be impressed as such great numbers. It is also encouraging to know that 11,999,999 other players shared our fight with the angry bosses of Elden Ring.
