The Chinese Publisher Netease plans with Project M a new shooter for iOS and Android. The game should become a team shooter with heroes and skills, which is already reminiscent of the concept of Valorant. But the first trailer looks like it was simply copied the game three.
What is Project M? Project M comes from the Chinese Publisher Netease and is to become a tactical 5VS5 hero shooter. In a first trailer you can see various heroes with unique skills, which turn mutually in futuristic maps and let it crash.
What reminds Project M? The whole gameplay, the heroes, the maps and the optics are reminiscent of Valorant of Riot Games. So you can see diverse things in the trailer, which are like elements in Valorant:
- A map with Asian architecture
- The optics of the corridors
- The weapons and their sounds
- The font and their presentation
In addition, some of the heroes are very similar. You can see a clear counterpart to the bomb expert Raze (here with helmet) and the archer Sova seems to be a woman here. Likewise the dark omen whose hooded capacity also envelops a female silhouette. Besides, you see foggy bullets for covering and an ice wall can also be summoned.
"When you write the homework and the teacher realizes it"
How does the game arrive at the community? Under the comments on the trailer, many viewers agree that this is a snotzing clone of valorant or its planned mobile version. Of course there is no evidence, but the similarities are already a striking.
Many angry fans of Valorant have therefore rated the trailer badly and so he comes to 1.7k downvotes, which only 905 upvotes face (as of August 7, 2021).
In the comments, the players among other things:
- Karlson Chee: "They have not even tried to change it. They simply cucked valorant. The same skills, same weapons concepts, same sound effects, etc. "
- Chharithy Chea: "Have the seriously Ctrl + C and then made CRTL + V?"
- James Vinluan: "When you write the homework and the teacher realizes it."
- WICK3D SPOOKII: "Fun Fact: The M stands for massive complaint"
- Sebastian Rivera: "When Riot is Valorant Mobile, it will kill this game. Just as Wildrift slowly handends to Mobile Legends. "
The last comment plays on the planned mobile version of Valorant. It is currently under development and at least with LOL, the market of Mobile Mobas was first dominated by Asian games until Riot finally brought his own game Wildrift.
